Diablo 4 World Boss FAQ
Everything players ask about world boss spawn times, the rotation and rewards. For the live countdown go to the world boss timer; for a specific boss see all world bosses.
Frequently asked questions
How often do world bosses spawn in Diablo 4?
Every 3.5 hours (210 minutes). Each spawn is 30 minutes later than the last, so the full 48-spawn schedule repeats every 7 days.
Which world bosses are in Diablo 4?
Four: Ashava the Pestilent, Avarice the Gold Cursed, Wandering Death, and Azmodan, Lord of Sin (added in Season 11).
How do I know when a world boss is about to spawn in-game?
One hour before, a boss icon appears on your map; 30 minutes before there's a server-wide announcement; 5 minutes before a final warning. You need World Tier 3 or campaign completion for these notifications.
What is the Echo of Uber Diablo?
In Season 15 (patch 3.2.2), some world boss kills are followed by the message "Diablo walks the earth," spawning an extra fight: Echo of Uber Diablo. It can drop the Unique Horadric Seal Annihilus. The exact trigger is not officially confirmed.
How do I get Annihilus?
Kill world bosses and stay in the arena afterward. If the Echo of Uber Diablo appears, defeat it for a chance at Annihilus. Set your loot filter to show Unique Seals — it's a Unique, not a Mythic, and filters often hide it.
What rewards do world bosses drop?
Guaranteed legendaries, Scattered Prisms, 5 Whispers, and a weekly Grand Cache per boss (resets Thursday) with a Unique chance. Each boss also drops exclusive mount armor.
How long does a world boss fight last?
About 15 minutes — then the boss retreats. Arrive 3–5 minutes early, since on lower difficulties bosses can be killed within seconds of spawning.
Are spawn times the same for everyone?
Yes — spawn moments follow one fixed global 3.5-hour cycle. The boss shown here is predicted from the rotation; confirm in-game one hour before via the map icon.
Can I fight world bosses on any difficulty?
Yes. Higher Torment difficulties give better Grand Cache quality.
What is the world boss rotation order in Diablo 4?
Each boss spawns twice in a row, then hands over to the next: Wandering Death ×2 → Avarice ×2 → Ashava ×2 → Azmodan ×2. Eight spawns at 3.5 hours each makes one 28-hour rotation.
Why is a spawn labelled "predicted"?
The first spawn of each boss pair sits on a rotation boundary. Spawn times are mathematically fixed, but at boundaries even the big trackers occasionally disagree about which boss comes next, so we label those spawns "predicted" and mark the second spawn of a pair "on cycle".
Which time zone does D4BossTimer use?
All times are converted to your device's time zone automatically. You can also pin a fixed zone (UTC, Pacific, Eastern, Central European, China Standard Time and more) from the time-zone selector, and the setting is saved in your browser.
Does the timer need an account or an internet connection to work?
No. The schedule is pure arithmetic from a verified anchor spawn (2026-10-08 13:30 UTC) and a 210-minute interval. Once the page is loaded it keeps counting even offline. Settings and your weekly cache progress are stored only in your browser.
When does the weekly Grand Cache reset?
Weekly world boss caches reset on Thursday. The weekly tracker on the home page clears itself automatically at the Thursday reset.
Can the timer notify me before a spawn?
Yes. Click "Notify me" to allow browser notifications and pick a lead time of 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. You can also enable a sound alert. The tab title shows the live countdown so you can see it from another tab.
